To take part in the competition, team must register and follow the contest rules as outlined below. Each team must submit their full products covering the whole development process. After a careful evaluation by the program committee, several finalists will be invited to ACE’2010 in Taipei to present and demonstrate their projects and receive their awards at the conference.

Contest Rules

Registration and Proposals
Each team must have a designated member as their team representative before submitting their project. To register for participation in ACE 2010, the team representative should submit the following information on ACE 2010 game registration:

Project Development
In principle, teams are free to choose their own development approach and to organize the process accordingly. However, certain project topics may explicitly state which approach must be taken, which details must appear in the delivered documentation, and which aspects of software engineering should be the focus of the project in order for the project to be judged a successful one.

Team Composition
To participate in the Programming Contest, you must be at least 18 years old. The Contest is open to individuals or teams of up to 4 people, but not to corporate entries. Every team must designate a contact person, to whom communications and enquiries will be addressed. The contact person must be a member of the team, or a faculty member supervising the students (for example if the project is carried out in the context of a software engineering course). However, the faculty member may not actively participate in the development of the project with the supervised team.

Copyright Issues
Unless exceptions are explicitly stated in advance, all artifacts produced by the teams will be treated confidentially by the program committee during the evaluation phase. However, a copyright release form will be requested from the selected teams to request for submission of a full deliverable of their project (see the evaluation procedure below).

Submission and Evaluation of Deliverables

Summary Report
